Excitedly experienced Windows 11 and was pleasantly surprised to find that the frame rate for League of Legends is much higher than in Windows 10, and it is also very stable. However, I encountered an issue: after turning on the computer, the screen remains black for 2-3 seconds before entering the system, without displaying the BIOS startup page.
I tried various hotkeys repeatedly, but none of them allowed me to enter the BIOS. I also attempted the following methods:
- Pressing DEL, F1-F12 keys frantically during startup, but none of them worked.
- Attempting to enter Advanced Startup, but it was not possible. The computer restarted directly to the desktop.
- Trying to reset the computer, but it failed to initialize after restarting.
- Disconnecting all hard drives and starting the computer, but it remained black without displaying any message about not finding a boot disk.
- Disabling Fast Startup. My machine does not have a Fast Startup option, but I still used cmd to disable it, which did not solve the issue.
- Long-pressing the power button during startup, but it had no effect.
- Holding down the shift key while the computer is starting up, but it did not work.
The only thing I haven't tried is removing the battery because my motherboard is relatively small and the battery is located under the graphics card. The computer case is also a bit small, making it very difficult to remove the graphics card...
I have been struggling with this issue for a long time and I am considering calling for professional assistance. However, when I asked on v2 during Monday's work, I was informed that it is a problem with the DP firmware...
Solution:
- Use an HDMI connection to the monitor and enter the BIOS to enable CSM.
- Upgrade the DP firmware by downloading the update from https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/nv-uefi-update-x64/. During the process, your screen may go black a few times. Please wait for the upgrade to complete, and then you will see the familiar BIOS welcome page again and be able to enter the BIOS directly.
The DP firmware upgrade is applicable to the following graphics cards:
NVIDIA TITAN Series:
TITAN X (Maxwell), TITAN X (Pascal), TITAN XP
